Each year I set out on doing bigger and better things for myself. But recently, upon drafting this post and reflecting on my goals for the year, I had an epiphany - how do you define bigger and better? Sure, I can have a checklist of things I'd like to accomplish for the year, but what makes them bigger and better than the year before? Maybe it's based on results and success, maybe it's based on failures and did-nots. At this point, I know one thing is for certain - this year (and the years after) I am set out on being happy.
This sounds quite vague, I know, but it's sort of like that whole "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "I want to be happy" outlook on life. (Read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, she explains it much better than I can). We're already halfway through February and I'm so incredibly excited for the journey ahead.
Though I certainly had my share of downs last year, it is not without all its joys as well. Thank you to everyone who made 2014 such an incredible memory. To sum up my year, I:
- Left my FC fam to complete my studies and travel. Is it ironic that I left my job in travel to travel?
- Got rejected by a deer.
- Decided to do a short summer course abroad in Firenze. We planned an event to launch two Italian handbag companies. It was an amazing experience with so many new friends made along the way.
- Completed another internship. The best group of girls to work with and awesome rooftop BBQs.
- Became crew with Snoopy and Woodstock.
- But always with my main crew(s). Oops, excuse the offensiveness in last photo.
Squad.
- Decided to live on the edge a little.
(Sienna, Santorini, Cinque Terre)
- Ticked off places I've always wanted to go to. And ticked off others twice.
(Kyoto Fushimi Inari Shrine, Firenze Duomo, Tomorrowland Round 2, Berlin East Side Gallery, Berlin Fall of The Wall 25th Anniversary, Uluru)
- Saw my favourite artist in the world. Twice.
- Second year of Sydney Food Bloggers Christmas. Thanks for hosting again, Suze & Helen!
- Had two new rascals join the family. Welcome Coffee and Cinnamon. Dw Peach, you'll always be main.
- Said hi and bye six times.
This year I also:
- Finished the year on a Distinction average!
- Got around to holding a Glebe Market stall.
- Revamped my room; new paint, feature wall, furniture.
- Survived my first camping experience.
- Ate too much but never regretted it (though my waistline did).
- Made more memories with my fam and loved ones.
2014 was a great year, perhaps bigger and better than 2013. I know for certain that 2015 will bring us just as much and even more happiness, because we'll make it so.

Another year has come and gone, and while most people reflect upon their year before the new year has actually started, I have a delayed response so that new year feel has finally kicked in. 2013 was a stellar journey: accomplishing goals, new friends made and forever lasting memories.
This year I...
- ate less Noggi frozen yoghurts than last year

- Launched WhatEmDid.com
- Watched my friends graduate, going on to get full time jobs and becoming adults.
- Went to the first PostSecret show in Sydney and met my hero.
- Oh hello there SBW, you're looking mighty fine today hehe
- Travelled across the world
- Too less time with my loved ones
- Deferred uni for a semester and got a full time job.
- Knowing that I have achieved something I set for: being more fit and active, exploring more, regular blogging updates, getting invited to the Sydney Food Blogger's picnic...
(Sydney Food Blogger's picnic 2013)
- Ate too much and grew old with Peach
Looking back makes me feel so nostalgic. A year quickly passes and you're not sure where time has gone and what have you been doing this past year. It's great to reflect during these times to see how far you have gone, how much you done, and how you have bettered yourself. I'm excited to be better, work harder and make more memories. Welcome, 2014.

One of my resolutions for the new year is definitely to blog more often. You have to excuse my absence for the past 2 months, obviously I was not born with the gift of being able to maintain a social life and blog simultaneously. THIS WILL BE THE YEAR OF CHANGE (ha!).
During the month of November, I was busy prepping for my end of year exams (look, if law was that easy then we would all be lawyers), as well as the endless amount of end-of-year birthdays, events and celebrations. Then came December, where I took a month long trip with my circle of friends to Thailand and Vietnam!
For New Years Eve this year, I spent it with my 2 bestest friends in the whole world. We went to catch fireworks in the city, had a picnic (accompanied by wine) and talked about what a fantastic year that was 2012....
1) Got a part-time job educating the young minds of our future tomorrows, with the help of these lovely ladies.
2) Joining oz-tag and meeting these amazing people (2 seasons, and going strong!)
2) Seeing two of my favourite DJ's play at Marquee, Sydney
3) Thailand and Vietnam with some of my fav people

4) Queensland and Hamilton Island
5) First designer purchase
6) Europe with mumma

7) Hiking with my fav girls.
8) First Costco first
9) Cold Play and Cirque Du Soleil

10) Fundraising for RSCPA Cupcake day, raising more than $4000!
Last but not least, spending NYE and the rest of my life with these two lovely ladies.
This year I also:
- Completed my second year of B Laws & Communication with a credit average (distinction this year?)
- An internship with MAXMEDIALAB. I have met some wonderful people and had the best mentor during my time there, very grateful for the opportunity.
- Probably had froyo 52 times (that's at least once a week, but wasn't in the country for a few months, so 3 times a week...)
- Endless list of festivals, raves, events, birthdays. These sound pretty average, but the love of music overcomes it all. It bought me closer to people I didn't think I would be friends with, and nothing unites people more than music (or love!... Or the love for music!)
I will carry the memories I have made this year to my grave.
Thank you, the year that was 2012.
