The awesome guys at Pub Life Kitchen have opened their doors to quiet Western suburbs area of Fairfield West. Next door to Gigino, it is only open on Tuesdays from 5pm-10pm, however the brgrs may be sold out before closing! This week will be its last week of opening, luckily I got my chance last week to drop by for a massive feed.

There was a 20 minute wait at 7pm for a table of four, but we were happy to wait while we stared in awe of the delicious sounding menu that was displayed in the front windows. Three burgers to choose from, served with a side of fries, and canned drinks. Quick, easy and simple. The interior is dark and cosy, with 3 larger tables and a smaller side one.

Creaming Soda and Coke $4 each, Moritz (Spain) $7

The Spanish are known for many things... beer is just not one of them. However, if you do prefer a bitter taste then this would be well suited for you. Our food took a bit more than 20 minutes to come out and we built up a massive appetite by then.

The Bird $18

Fried Dorito chicken, jack cheese, slaw, tomato and mayo makes this a mammoth burger. Vee and I halved our burgers to share to try both of them. The most ah-mazing part, besides the chicken, is def the soft bun! I haven't had a soft bun burger for the longest of times, as brioche bun burgers became so trendy, so it was refreshing to have that great contrast in textures. Yum, the soft bun with the crunchy fried chicken. My god, was the fried chicken good. Ok, this whole burger was good. This whole burger was great.

The O.G $18

It's not a looker, but you know what they say about looks being deceiving... House patty, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, jack cheese and aoli ON A SOFT BUN... This IS my holy grail of burgers. Another friend who dined here last week mentioned to me that the brgrs were better than Mary's, and while I haven't been to Mary's yet I highly doubt anything can top this. The patty was served medium rare (I thought of Krabby Pattys), with the onions and salad giving a good balance so that it wasn't too heavy, and the aoli to top it off the flavours. It was an explosion of awesomeness and I will forever have dreams about this burger. I don't even want to emphasis, but dreams WILL be had.

Burgers were served with shoe string fries, very diner style and perfect side as you can just eating them. We also got chilli mayo on the side as well ($1?) which made for a better accompaniment.

Blurry cross section of The O.G

The brgrs were nothing short of amazing, there was never a more worthwhile way to eat your calories. The only thing that would of made it better would of been milkshakes, but I guess it takes away from the quick and easy dine-in situation they have going on. It's sad to see it go since it is so close to home, but I look forward to venturing out to it's next eateries throughout Sydney.
