Warning: Photo heavy!

It is unlike me to choose to go to buffets, usually because they suck. However, Sheraton's renowned buffet which offers all you can eat seafood including crab, mussels and oysters is quiet hard to say no to.

Table neatly set up before arrival. Bowl of water w lemon wedge to rinse hands and empty bowl to dispose seafood shells etc.

(T to B): Assorted cured meats w cocktail onions & pickles; Pastrami, rockmelon, mozzarella and basil

Make your own salad bar w assorted dressings

(Clockwise from top right): Raw Salmon Nigiri, Californian Roll, Salmon & Avo Roll

Fresh Prawns in mah belly!

(L to R): Bugs (forgot which kind); Octopus Salad; Crab (forgot which kind...)

Fresh Rock Oysters; Calamari Salad

Fresh Muscles; Smoked Salmon

Asian/Wok goodies

CHEESE PLATTER!!

Assorted Fresh Fruit

Dessert table :O

Black Forest Cake

Tarts, mousse, passionfruit cheesecake

Chocolate Tripple Cake; Lamingtons

(L to R): Sticky Date Pudding w Butterscotch Sauce; Banana, Walnut, Rhubarb Crumble w Vanilla Sauce

Semillion $12

Plate 1: Seafood

Buffets become very much your moneys worth when you eat your weight in seafood! The oysters were quite small and didn't have the beautiful juicy flesh. My favourite was definitely those fat muscles! They were so juicy and delicious, I had another plateful after teehehe. The prawns were also huge and great eaten on it's own or with the cocktail sauce. The crab was a bit disappointing as there was not much sweetness to it and it was hard to break the shell to eat the flesh. A pair of those crab-shell-breaking-clamp things would of been useful :-(.

Plate 2: Assorted stuff I wanted to try

Antipasto, soba noodles w sesame, pumpkin lentil salad, roast chat potatoes, crispy pork belly, beef medallion w Bernaise, more mussels, oyster Kilpatrick, cheese and crackers. It was my first time trying cured meats with fruit. While it seems like a strange concept the flavours worked surprisingly well together. And yum, more mussels!

Plate 3: Dessert

Trifle, triple chocolate cake, passionfruit cheesecake, hazelnut slice, chocolate crackle, black forest cake, coffee walnut slice, and creme brulee. No, I didn't eat everything on the plate myself... or did I... The highlight was the creme brulee - so delish and surprisingly a lovely silky texture that many still get wrong. Everything else was a run of the mill.

Dish 4: Dessert

Lastly I had the Sticky Date Pudding and Banana Rhubarb Crumble. The sticky date was my favourite dessert of the night! It was moist and not too sweet with thick butterscotch sauce. The crumble was second to it, with the mushy rhubarb and crunchy crumble being a great mix of textures in my mouth.

The service was  amazing, as you'd except a 5 star hotel to be. Whist I'm still not a fan of buffets, this has got to be on the higher end of the spectrum. Variety of choices that is not just westernised Asian sweet sour pork, huge selection of desserts that seriously no on can complain about, and all you can eat seafood is always a win... to my stomach.

Food: 3.5/5
Service: 5/5
Atmosphere: 4/5
Interior: 3/5 (The chairs were hideous and horrible to sit on)
Revisit: 2.5/5 (very decent quality buffet - get for what you pay)
