It's quite a treat in this day and age to find somewhere as humble as Revolver Cafe. Owner Rodney Jones had a goal to create something that wasn't 'just another cafe,' but basically a place with a bit of heart and soul. From the interesting and homely decor to the friendly and efficient staff service, it was quite clear Jones had nailed it. Free street parking also made my day (curse you, Surry Hills!).

We started brunch with a refreshing cup of freshly squeezed OJ and a good hit of caffeine. Next time I am back, I will def opt for the much raved about Watermelon and Passionfruit juice.

Fresh house squeezed OJ $5.50

Latte $3.20

Big Breakfast $18

One for the hungry, the big breakfast comes with 'Feather and Bone' bacon, sausage, house cured pork neck, baked eggs, roast tomato, roast field mushroom and beans with sourdough toast - basically everything you want to fill an empty stomach. A meal to come back again and again for.

Burger $18

The Revolver Burger comprises of 'Feather and Bone' pasture fed aged wagyu brisket with smoky eggplant, brussel sprouts, caramelised onion, rocket, picked beetroot and aged cheddar in a Sonoma rustic roll with a side of chat potatoes. The brisket is tender and juicy and all the flavors work well together. Would of like maybe to option of spicy sauce or something though but it was all delish and very healthy tasting! Not a big fan of brussel sprouts however, and a side of crunchy sweet potato fries would of made as a better accompaniment.

Malted Chocolate Milkshake $6.00

A very tasty milkshake, not as thick as the Jazz City Milk Bar ones but just as good in terms of flavour. And a much more larger serving for price as well, win!

The staff were super friendly and even though we stayed for almost 3 hours talking they did not pester us constantly. You can see Jones running around as well taking orders and cleaning up tables. What I also love about Revolver Cafe is the very idea that Jones, his wife, and his dad (along with some contractors) took 2-3 years to rebuilt the building themselves, including the wrap-around-balcony! The effort and dedication is what gives this cafe so much character. It's easy to understand why Revolver is quickly becoming a local favourite.
