Holy moly, it's been too long since my last beauty post.

As I was cleaning out my tubs, draws, bags and boxes of products just before the new year, I stood back and looked at the abyss that was my room and said "Emily, no more buying beauty products and make up." A whole heap of expired products, some never used, had to be binned - my heart in the bin with them :-(
I promised from then on to use everything I have before I ever even think about walking into a Priceline or jumping onto StrawberryNet.com again. Here are my first try-outs for the first quarter of the year!

[L to R]: Sukin Purifying Facial Masque, Sukin Facial Moisturiser, Wei White Lotus Hydration Cream**, Jurlique Purely White Skin Birghtening Cleanser

Wei White Lotus Moisture Rich Hyrdrating Cream 50ml - RRP $90**

Wei White Lotus Moisture Rich Hyrdrating Cream 50ml - RRP $90**

I've only started recently using this as you can see. Wei is a Chinese Herbal beauty brand which focuses on 4 things: purify-chi (cleanses the skin and purifies toxins to clear the way for open energy flow), energise-yang (energises the skin for a renewed and revitalised appearance), replenish-yin (nourishes the skin with elements that improve luminosity and texture) and correct-zen (corrects imperfections to bring balance and restore an even healthy tone to the skin).
This cream focuses on replenish-yin, containing the White Lotus flower, a flower that blooms in water. This key ingredient helps absorb and retain water and deeply hydrate the skin. This cream is thick and is intended for people with DRY skin, great for the oncoming winter. I took this with me on the plane when I went Malaysia and it was life saving from the recycled plan air! I usually use the Elizabeth Arden 8-hour cream as well as my normal moisturiser but felt no need to with this cream. Even though it's thick, it absorbs into the skin very quickly, leaving your skin dewy, soft and supple. It is also has anti-aging complexities (you can never be too young to start!).
Only thing I dislike for a small 50ml (besides the price) is the packaging. It's this big heavy chunk brick thing, and really a waste of materials (hello, environmentally friendly?). But besides that, I love love love it!

Sukin Purifying Face Masque 100ml - RRP $15.99

Sukin Purifying Face Masque 100ml - RRP $15.99

Sukin is an Australian Natural and Organic skincare brand. If anyone follows me on Instagram, they know I have this high horse thing with organic and natural products and food. They are better for your body, skin and environment. The masque is suppose to "cleanse, tone and de-stress your skin... with soothing aloe vera and hydrating rose hip oil will leave your skin clean, nurtured and renergised." The first time I used the clay mask, I looked in the mirror and it reminded me of Lilith from True Blood... It did not look cute at all :-( After letting it dry for 15 minutes, I washed it off and my skin was noticably different. I thought maybe this was just that placebo effect, but after using it once every week I gradually felt the change in my skin. Skin was tighter, more smooth and soft to touch. For the price, the amount of uses you get out of it, the quality I def recommend it. It's packed full of skin loving ingredients such as vitamin E, shea butter, jojoba, lavender, grapefruit seed and mandarin.

[L to R]: Jurlique Purely White Skin Brightening Cleanser 100ml - $35
Sukin Facial Moisturiser 125 ml - $9.99

The Jurlique cleanser contains VitabirghtKX to remove makeup and impurities, leaving skin brighter and smoother looking with a more even complexion. It also contains rhyolite, a natural mineral exfoliant, designed to gently polish skin to help minimise dullness and restore a youthful glow. It took me about 3 months to finish the bottle! I have a small amount of acne scars and after a month, I noticed they were lighter and barely noticeable. However, I also used rosehip oil every night as well. I do feel that it made my skin look brighter, more of a glow so if you have dull complexion this will be a great product to look into.

I bought this last winter and I had to stop using it cause my skin was too dry. I started using it during summer, when my face will be a bit oilier and IT IS THE BEST! A girl should always have a moisturiser for winter and one for summer, like foundation. In winter your skin is more dry for the air around, making your skin crave that moisture. Whereas summer you're sweating and your skin builds oil quicker, so you need a moisturiser that isn't so oily. Besides being an organic and natural brand, this moisturiser absorbs quickly into your skin leaving no sticky residue. Great during summer to "neutralise" your skin, and you can apply make up quickly after without having to wait (because ain't no one got time for that). As we are rolling into AW13, I don't recommend purchase now but def an investment for summer.

Another beauty post by end of the week, promise. I've been trying to save for my overseas trip, so have been eating out less (expect less food posts). But I always have a stack load of products to swatch and sample!

If anyone does read this, please comment and let me know if you prefer beauty or make up posts?
