Aprox $8 from Woolworths, Priceline and other selected places.

Big weekend coming up but all the stress with uni, work etc. has made you break out (bad diet doesn't help either). Neutrogena Rapid Clear Spot Eliminating Gel is a highly effective spot gel that can give you visibly clearer skin in as little as 8 hours... Specifically, this clear gel effectively unclogs congested pores by penetrating deep into the pore, boosting the delivery of powerful pore-cleansing ingredients to remove trapped dirt, oil and bacteria that can cause pimples, redness and inflammation.

This product was great for removing my exam stress pimples, but I found that it didn't work effectively for cystic acne (under the skin pimples) as it could not 'penetrate' into the pore. Good for if you have some small ones/whiteheads etc. However, like many pimple gels/creams that contian benzoyl peroxide, it tends to dry out your skin like crazy so moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! For those really dry spots (think around the nose from blowing it too often) I've been using Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream. It's a wonderment! Will post on that soon!

For cystic acne and pimple remedies, a friend suggested trying mouth wash and tooth paste. What she does is dab some mouth wash (Listerine) on a cotton ball/pad and clean the infected area (may sting sometimes). After you've disinfected the area put some toothpaste on your spots and sleep with it overnight. Come morning the redness and swelling will have gone down.

What are some other great home remedies you have tried?
