Edamame
I love a good salted edamame. I don't know whether it's because it's healthy or just the satisfaction of popping them out leaving this tingling feeling on your lips.
Gyoza
This very much reminded of the ones I had in Japan. Though I realise different restaurants do it differently, I find seems more authentic. The meat to pastry ratio was a bit to the latter side but that chilli/tangy sesame/soysauce helps a bit.
Sushi & Sashimi Platter
Kingfish, salmon and prawn nigiri, tuna/avocado/cucumber sushi rolls and salmon & kingfish sashimi -Sashimi slices were a bit too thick, sushi rice was a bit dry. I don't think I'll come here for sushi unless I lived across the road. Actually, even if I did live across I prob rather travel a bit for a good meal. Sashimi was great with the gyoza dipping sauce though.

Sizzling Soysauce Beef
We then made our way to the city for the final week of Vivid Sydney festival. I must admit, I think I lost my sense of culture and art since I left high-school. It's good to enjoy the good company of many of tourists with their slr's and tripods and the big festivities filled with food and music, regardless of how cold the winter night is. Don't you agree?
The staff at Taiyoh are very friendly and the restaurant looked like the ones they had in Japan, more homey and traditional with Western-taste influences. Though, unfortunately, I don't think I would return for a second time money for quality value in the sense.
Lighting the Sails, Sydney Opera House
It's a bit blurry, I know I've asked you to excuse my dogpoop photography skills prob one too many times now, but it's a pretty cool shot I think. Looks like the lights are radiating. It's actually just the projections from the OPT. Pretty cool? Comments?
Fire Dance, Campbell Cove
I loved how they played Katy Perry's "Fireworks". It was blasted so long, I could sing kareoke and no one would notice.
Trippy or what? Btw, it's a convenience store at the end of the tunnel, booyah.
If I said it before, I'll say it again - I'm a sucker for desserts. I've ALWAYS wanted to go here but no one was willing to travel with me. No offense, driving/taking a train all the way to the city by yourself to get desserts, seems a little more than desperate. I've heard many wonderful things from various food bloggers, seen ads, and even try some of their famous macaroons from a friend but sometimes, you need to experience these things for yourself. It's like looking at a picture of the Eiffel Tower and being there is completely different, is it not? From the Baroque Bar, Bistro & Patisserie.
Now excuse me for not remember what cake this was, the lady serving us was very polite but had a deep French accent that was so beautiful and poetic... yet so unmanageable. The oxymoron's of life. It had rhubarb in it (the centre) and the exterior surrounding was this beautiful creamy, but not too sweet cheesey sort of cake. The oblong shapes of some sort of toffee tasting thing was AH-MAZING! I could just eat that all day by itself.
I'm terrible I know, I'm unsure of the flavours of the macaroons as well... I do remember that the middle one was passion fruit though cause I've tried that before and LOVED it and was like "YES, MUST BUY PASSION FRUIT" in a robotic voice. My partner didn't enjoy the passion fruit one as much but I think that sort of sweet but tangy flavour with the chocolate cream is a perfect combination. The top one was some sort of berry and I like the bottom one cause it had glitter on it :) I'm too easily amused, but edible glitter? You can' tell me that's not like the most awesome thing ever. These macaroons were divine, I can see why they're so popular, with people even being able to take a masterclass to learn how to make macaroons! They just melt in your mouth, are light and not too crunchy that it crumbles. Def coming back.
Oh and quick outfit post. I know I don't have many, but once my partner is a professional photographer (ha!) more of shots of me and my glorious beauty (ha!) will come.
